WINNING TEENS: Serving God in Thy Youth
One characteristic a young person possesses
is strength. Young people are known to be agile, full of vigor and relentless.
It is possible that they can accomplish anything they set their minds to
achieve.
As a teenager, it will be awesome to use your
strength to serve God. Our Lord and saviour, Jesus Christ at age 12 left his
family for three days and was found discussing with doctors and asking them
questions, thereby minding His father’s business.
Close to that is our father in the faith,
Bishop David Oyedepo who also laid a good example for us to follow. He gave his
life to Jesus Christ at 15, and preached his first message a year later. Papa as he is fondly called never
relented in his tireless pursuit of kingdom service; he is waxing strong every
day. Kingdom service surely pays a great deal because it makes you a star in
your school and among your peers.
Paul speaking to his son in 2 Timothy 3:15, “And that from a child thou
hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation
through faith which is in Christ Jesus.”
Now, what does the scripture say
concerning serving God?
In Job
36:11, the Bible says, “If they obey and
serve Him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in
pleasure.” I will admonish you not to despise this stage you are as a
teenager (2Timothy 4:12) because this is the right season in your life to serve
God with your entire being. It
surely works and it pays a great reward.
