“With
the abduction of 247 school girls mostly Christians from Chibok, thousands of
believers and scores of pastors killed during church services…the jihad has
simply been declared."
Bishop David Oyedepo, president and Founder of the Living Faith Church Worldwide has described the boko haram’s
onslaught on the West African nation as an Islamic war. “Mr.
President (Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan-GCFR)
must not be deceived to believe that the bombings which have claimed hundreds
of lives and abductions of over 200 school girls in Chibok, a largely a Christian
community in Borno State is anything
other than a religious war not political, with well-defined targets”, the
cleric warned.
The man of God was speaking to a mammoth
crowd at Faith Tabernacle, Canaan land Ota, the global
headquarters of the commission during Sunday service on May 25th 2014 tagged covenant day of vengeance.
He queried:”How many scholars or Imams
have been killed and mosques destroyed so far” as against the thousands of
believers and a number of pastors who have been slain between 2010 till date,
many during worship services?
Bishop
Oyedepo called on well-meaning Nigerians to vent their wrath on the
enemies of the nation through intense prayers instead of engaging in idle
political diatribes, adding that the most populous black nation on earth was at
the brink of collapse if nothing is done spiritually-Ps 7;11,Ps.139:21-22. “Because
sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of
the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil” (Eccl 8; 11), Papa as he is fondly called, stressed
that it was religious ignorance to pray for the wicked to be saved.
The 59-year-old preacher admonished lovers
of the nation to join the winners family as the movement engage in the next
21-day-prayer of vengeance as our God who is a two-sided One both kills and
makes alive: ”Suffer not a witch to live “-1Sam
2:6 and Ex.22:18.
The visibly angry preacher said vengeance
was needed because it is the believers’ gateway for total liberty which is an
end-time agenda. It is also an access to supernatural breakthrough, all round
comfort and our redemptive right. God’s servant detailed the weapons of
vengeance like Revelation, Faith, Prayer and fasting, bold speaking and
prophetic verdict.
The Omu-Aran-born
cleric who turned 33 in ministry this month assured all and sundry of victory
over evil forces particularly in the month of faith as the church and nation
will emerge stronger than ever:”By it the elders obtained a good report”-Heb
11:2
